2 Susy Cormack Brown cormack.brown@gmail.com Acked Ayr LM Omni self 0791 072 8391 1. No creed? That's what I've been told. But what's a 'testimony of equality' if not part of a creed? 2. When some Quakers profess not to believe in God or Christ I'm confused. I also get uneasy when I hear Quakers talk of Quakerism like it's a philosophy ' or even an uber-religion. In the *Quaker Living* flyer, one man speaks of his 'Quaker faith'. So, what's the deal? Are Quakers Christian disciples? Does the Society of Friends identify as Christian? And, if so, as a denomination? Community? Church? Movement? Something else? 3. What place does Biblical scripture have in shaping faith and practice among Quakers? Is it more significant than *Quaker Faith and Practice?* Or less? Or what? 4. Must Quakers be pacifists? What kind of pacifism are we talking about, if so? 5. Different faith traditions can use different terms for the same thing, which can be confusing. For instance, 'ministering' where I came from doesn't mean speaking at the prompting of the Spirit during worship. And one of the explicit commitments in my church tradition is to 'work for justice and peace'. Is this identical to the Quaker's commitment, worded a little differently? Is there a beginners' guide to Quaker jargon? 6. Must Quakers have a quiet funeral? (I'd quite like a song and dance about my passing!)

12 Alan O'Callaghan alan.ocallaghan@outlook.com Acked Central Edinburgh LM Vegetarian self I am interested in the meaning of membership - QFP gives some generalities but I suppose I am interested in more immediate perspectives on what it means to formally be a Friend rather than an attender. And perhaps details on how membership is handled locally, for those of us too shy to ask (asking for a friend, of course). I also curious whether Friends have ideas on how to divine (aha) how to direct one's faith and principles towards action in an incredibly damaged and turbulent world, striking the balance between spreading oneself too thin and not doing as much as one could.

13 Celia Royce celiaroyce42@gmail.com Acked Mull LM Omni self Do you have to be a Christian? Is it a 'way of life'? It seems to be a very 'middle class, educated' organisation. Will be travelling by public transport so unable to attend the Dunblane meeting. Is anyone else travelling from the Oban area - if they are travelling by car I'm very willing to share costs.
