31
Project updates
| |
32
2.1 CVenues
| |
391 | 33
Ongoing back-and-forth with Hartley Kemp (HK) of CV getting details |
34 of the building to him, in preparation for the full formal License
35 Agreement. Some niggles to still be sorted including Emergency Lighting
36 and weight bearing capacity of the Meeting Room, cleaning costs. HK will
37 be visiting on Monday 22 April to attempt to reach final agreement on a
38 draft to send to Trustees.
| |
39
CVenues will be in from 14 July – ??
| |
40
See option 2 in the attached plan for the planned Meeting Room
41 layout. Scrim across the room just E. of the main door on Sundays.
| |
42
We have the Meeting Room, Kitchen and access from 0900–1400.
| |
43
Wednesday Meeting will be in Johnstone Terrace Wildlife Garden / the
44 Palm House. Childrens’ Meeting have been offered one day there if they
45 would like.
| |
46
HST will brief Central Edinburgh at Local Meeting on ? 6 June
| |
47
ACTION: MG to check with City of Edinburgh about a) the validity span
48 of an EICR; b) the need for emergency lighting to be checked to a
49 standard.
| |
50
2.2 Hideout Cafe
| |
51
Hideout Cafe have not replied to our most recent proposal. We are
52 going forward on the assumption that they are no longer interested.
53 Their main interest was always in the full refit/more room/plumbing etc.
54 version.
| |
55
We have considered the possibility of looking for someone else to do
56 just-a-pop-up, but decided enough work is pending, and we may get the
57 information we wanted from a trial run if CVenues try something.
| |
58
Hartley Kemp has been informed. We won’t prejudge the possibility of
59 him doing something along similar lines until we’ve talked with him on
60 Monday.
| |
61
2.3 Lighting See attachment 1
| |
62
Majk Stokes managed gathering quotes. MG and MS judged the Gunn and
63 Alexanders quote to be appropriate considered. Additional complexity
64 with Mark Kisby’s involvement to manage the physical interaction of
65 their hanging and the lighting. There is also the question of the
66 quality of microphone system and whether we should do something about
67 this.
| |
68
MG will call Mark K to come and explore the lighting/microphone
69 interaction and suggest and quote for a solution, possibly on 22 April
70 if he can make.
| |
71
We should consider also inviting Mark Kisby to attend at some event
72 where we suspect the problems would manifest and observe.
| |
73
We agree to ask Trustee’s approval for asking Keith Gunn to go ahead
74 per their quote.
| |
75
2.4 Carpets See attachment 2
| |
76
Two quotes for Carpet or Carpet Tile, without floor preparation.
| |
77
At least 10-year wear.
| |
78
Carpet tile has the advantage of allowing square-by-square
79 replacement in case of damage or stain.
| |
80
‘Stain-free’ has strong smell at first, possible health and
81 environmental issues.
| |
82
MG to try to get a look at an existing installation of tile with some
83 years of use wrt possible lifting at the edges under wear.
| |
84
ALthough vinyl is cheaper as such, the preparatino is much more
85 substantial, so roughly double the cost for the Foyer (6k vs. 3k).
| |
86
We agree to return to this once we get the information we need to
87 choose, both wrt tile vs. carpet and with respect to the Foyer.
| |
88
2.5 Period products See attachment 3
| |
89
Quotes from three outfits, MG recommends Hey Girls, who also have the
90 contract for the City of Edinburgh. RF says they are used in AU.
| |
91
We agreed that MG should go ahead and contract with Hey Girls for
92 installations in all toilets.
| |
93
2.6 Flat 3F2 at 6 Upper Bow
| |
94
HST to explore offering 3F2 to Hartley 1) Check with City re Short
95 term lets regulation 2) Check with Clan Gordon about whether they would
96 manage Then bring this back for consideration.
| |
97
If not viable, then ask CG to get quotes for the options they
394 | 98 recommend.

|
