Top-level `elcclean' is an alias for `realclean-noconfig' and is used by target `beta'. `realclean-noconfig' (and, by extension, `realclean' and `extraclean') remove the .elc files. This directory contains the source code for the architecture-dependent
files that go in ../arch-lib.  At present, these are mostly utility
programs used by Emacs.
