My thanks to Henry and Rachel for what they have raised so far. I had drafted a response but will revise it taking into account Rachel’s thoughts.

As you can see, I am not sending this, and will not send my next email, to the Management Committee Google group which includes Miranda. While of course we need to take into account Miranda’s views on the manager’s position and learn from them, I do not think she should be involved in our discussions about the future: we are not (re-)creating a job for her, but assessing how the Meeting House should be run and therefore what we need from a new manager. It is in my view essential that, when we talk about this on Monday, it is during the ’time without staff’.
